# Your Profile & Personal Settings

> Manage your name, photo, mobile number, password, multi-factor authentication and language from your Personal Settings — and why your mobile number matters beyond sign-in.

## Overview

Personal Settings is where you manage the details of your own sign-in — separate from any team's **Settings** page, which controls the workspace you're currently working in. Click your profile picture at the bottom of the sidebar and choose **Personal Settings** to get there.

The page has a left-hand menu with up to four tabs:

* **Details** — your photo, name, mobile number and (where available) language
* **Password** — change your sign-in password
* **Multi-Factor** — add or remove a second sign-in step
* **Delete** — permanently delete your account

The **Password** tab only appears if password sign-in is enabled for your workspace, and the **Delete** tab only appears if self-service account deletion is enabled — see [Deleting an Account or Team](/account/deletion) if you don't see it and need an account removed.

## Details tab

### Profile picture

The **Profile Details** card starts with **Upload a Profile Picture** — "Choose a photo to upload as your profile picture." Click the circular image placeholder to pick a file, or click **Clear** next to an existing photo to remove it.

Uploads must meet these rules:

| Rule | Requirement |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| File types | JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP |
| Maximum size | 5 MB |
| Rate limit | 5 uploads per minute — further attempts are rejected with "Too many upload attempts. Please try again later." |

Your photo displays as a circular thumbnail throughout the app. Saving or clearing a photo shows the same confirmation as the name/phone form below it — "Updating profile..." while it saves, then "Profile successfully updated".

### Name and mobile number

Below your photo, the same card holds two fields:

| Field | Requirement | Notes |
| ---------------- | -------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Your Name** | 2–100 characters | Displayed wherever your name appears in the app |
| **Phone Number** | A valid phone number | Country picker defaults to Australia; enter the number and select the correct country if you're elsewhere. Unlike the onboarding step, this field isn't restricted to Australian mobiles |

Click **Update Profile** to save. Voxworks saves your name and mobile number immediately — changing the number here doesn't send you a fresh SMS code the way the initial verification during onboarding did (see [the onboarding walkthrough](/getting-started/onboarding) for that first-time SMS step).

### Why your mobile number matters

Keep this number current — it's used in two places beyond your own sign-in:

* **Team Member transfer destinations.** In [Numbers & Routing → Endpoints](/routing/endpoints), an admin can set an endpoint's destination type to **Team member** and pick you by name. Voxworks shows your name together with this phone number — or "phone unavailable" if it's blank — so a missing number here means teammates can't route a live transfer to you.
* **Test Call's "My Phone" option.** This number is also used later for "My Phone" test calls, where Voxworks rings you directly so you can hear your script play out. See [Test Calls](/calls/test-calls) for how "My Phone" and "In Browser" test calls work.

### Language

If your workspace has more than one language available, a separate **Language** card appears below Profile Details with a single dropdown — "Choose your preferred language". Selecting a language reloads the app in that language immediately. Voxworks currently ships in English only, so most accounts won't see this card; it appears automatically once additional languages are enabled.

## Password tab

The **Update your Password** card — "Update your password to keep your account secure." — holds two fields, **New Password** and **Repeat New Password** ("Please repeat your new password to confirm it"), followed by an **Update Password** button.

| Rule | Requirement |
| -------------- | ------------------------------ |
| Minimum length | 8 characters |
| Maximum length | 99 characters |
| Confirmation | Both fields must match exactly |

On success you'll see "Your password has been successfully updated!". If Voxworks asks you to reauthenticate first, sign out and sign back in, then try again.

If your account has no email/password sign-in method attached — for example, you signed up with Google only — this tab shows a warning instead of the form: "You cannot update your password because your account is not linked to an email provider." See [Signing Up, Signing In & Password Recovery](/account/sign-in) for the sign-in methods Voxworks supports.

## Multi-Factor tab

The **Multi-Factor Authentication** card — "Set up Multi-Factor Authentication method to further secure your account" — lists any authentication factors you've enrolled, with their name, type and status (**verified** or **unverified**), and a button to enrol a new one. Each row has a control to unenrol that factor, with a confirmation dialog warning that you won't be able to use it to sign in once removed.

This tab only manages your own enrolled factors. For the enrolment steps, the sign-in challenge this protects, and the separate SMS and email verification codes used elsewhere in the app, see [Multi-Factor Authentication](/account/mfa).

***

## Delete tab

The **Delete** tab holds a **Danger Zone** card — "Some actions cannot be undone. Please be careful." — with a single **Delete your Account** button. This permanently removes your sign-in and every team you're the primary owner of, gated behind an emailed verification code. See [Deleting an Account or Team](/account/deletion) for the full flow, what happens to your data, and how it differs from deleting a single team.
