# Permissions

> Each permission on the Voxworks authorisation screen, what it lets a connected assistant do, and how it combines with your own team role.

## How permissions work

What a connected assistant can do is limited three ways:

1. **The team you picked** when you approved it. It never sees another team's data.
2. **Your own access in that team.** The assistant acts as you, so it can never do more than you could do in the app.
3. **The permissions you approved** on the authorisation screen, listed below.

Private calls stay private: an assistant only sees a private call if it is yours.

## The permissions

| Permission | What it means | What it unlocks |
| - | - | - |
| **Read your scripts and flows** | The app can see your scripts and flows. | Reading, explaining and reviewing scripts; listing voices; reading surveys and checking a survey draft. |
| **Create new script revisions (every change is compiled and versioned)** | The app can save changes. Each one becomes a new version, so nothing is overwritten and you can always go back. | Editing scripts and their settings, copying a script, rolling back, writing a new script with AI, asking for a fresh recommendation review, creating surveys. |
| **Publish script changes to live calls** | The app can make a change live, so it is used on real calls. Without this permission, the app's changes are saved as drafts for you to publish in the app. | Publishing a script version. |
| **Review and approve AI recommendations** | The app can work through the AI's suggested script changes with you. | Rejecting recommendations and filing new ones. Applying or undoing a recommendation also needs **Create new script revisions**. |
| **Read call details, outcomes and summaries** | The app can read your calls and their results. | Listing calls and reading one in full; checking a script against its recent calls. |
| **Read call transcripts, including what callers said** | The app can read full call transcripts. | Reading what was said on a call. Transcripts include your callers' personal details, so only allow this for assistants you trust with them. |
| **Read batches, automations, phone numbers, usage and calendar setup** | The app can read your team's operational setup and usage. | Diagnosing batches and automation runs, seeing which script answers each number, your plan and usage, and the calendar booking tools you can use. |
| **Stay connected without re-approving** | The app stays connected instead of asking again each time. | — |
| **Confirm your identity** | The app can confirm who you are. | — |

Searching these docs and the Voxworks playbook needs no permission beyond being connected.

## Surveys

Survey tools also need the Surveys module on your team and the matching survey permission in your role: viewing surveys to read or check them, and creating surveys to make one. If either is missing, the assistant is told surveys are not available to you in this team. See [Surveys](/surveys/overview) and [Roles & Permissions](/team/roles-permissions).
