Overview

Your Wallet Balance is the cash reserve Voxworks draws on for call costs your plan doesn’t already cover. It lives on the Wallet Balance card under Settings > Billing, alongside your Current Subscription Plan and Payment Methods cards. The card shows your Current balance in dollars and a Top Up Wallet button. Once your balance drops below $10.00, a Low Balance badge appears next to it so you notice before you run out — see How Call Billing Works for the rest of the low-balance and insufficient-funds picture.

What Your Wallet Pays For

What draws on your wallet depends on your plan: In other words: your minute credits (where you have them) are spent first, and your wallet only comes into play for whatever isn’t covered by those credits. See How Call Billing Works for the full billing sequence, and Plans, Tiers & Feature Gates for each tier’s included minutes and overage rate. Every top-up and every debit against your wallet — call usage, adjustments, refunds — is recorded as its own entry, showing the date, a description, the amount, and your balance after that entry. See Usage History for the complete wallet ledger, with filtering by billing period and CSV export.

Topping Up Manually

Click Top Up Wallet to open a dialog titled Top Up Wallet“Add funds to your wallet for call usage”.

Choosing an amount

  • Quick amounts — four preset buttons: 50,50, 100, 200,200, 500.
  • Top Up Amount — a custom field, pre-filled with 50.00,foranyotheramount.Theminimumtopupis50.00, for any other amount. The minimum top-up is **5.00**; anything less is rejected before a charge is attempted.

GST is added on top

Whatever amount you choose is what lands in your wallet — GST is charged in addition to it, not taken out of it. The dialog shows the breakdown as you type:
  • Top-up amount — the amount you entered, e.g. $50.00
  • GST (10%) — 10% of that amount, e.g. $5.00
  • Total amount — what your card is actually charged, e.g. $55.00
So a 50topupadds50 top-up adds 50.00 to your wallet balance and charges your card $55.00 in total.

1-click vs entering card details

Click Pay with Card to proceed. What happens next depends on whether you have a saved default card (see Payment Methods & Invoices):
  • 1-click — if you already have a default payment method on file, Voxworks attempts to charge it immediately with no further input from you. If that succeeds, you’ll see a success message and your balance updates right away — the dialog never needs a card form at all.
  • Card entry — if you don’t have a saved card yet, or the immediate charge can’t complete without extra verification, an embedded payment form opens instead (built on Stripe’s payment element, matching your light/dark theme) so you can enter or confirm card details and complete the payment yourself.
Either way, once payment succeeds your wallet is credited for the top-up amount and the page refreshes to show your new balance.

When Your Balance Goes Negative

Your wallet balance can go below $0.00. A call’s exact cost is only known once it ends, but eligibility to place or receive a call is checked beforehand — so it’s possible for a call that was allowed to start to end up costing slightly more than what was left in your wallet at that moment, taking your balance negative by that difference rather than failing the transaction. A negative balance doesn’t retroactively affect the call that caused it — but it does mean you’re below the line Voxworks checks before allowing your next call. See How Call Billing Works for exactly when a call is blocked for insufficient funds.

Auto Top-up

Automatically topping up your wallet once it drops below a threshold you choose is planned but not yet available. Until then, watch for the Low Balance badge on your Wallet Balance card and top up manually before your balance runs out.
